Charles and Mary Smith

SOUNDWATER was born in the fall of 1997. THE ANCIENT PATH came soon after.
Our goal has been to take the music and writings of many years and communicate them through
books, CDs and the World Wide Web to whomever God would touch.

Our music and audio productions can be played on our SOUNDWATER MEDIA PAGE.
Our poems, stories, teachings and books can be found at our Creative writing site
THE ANCIENT PATH

Anything you find is free as long as you do not use it for commercial purposes. If you have
a question about it, our email address is posted on each of our sites. We would appreciate
acknowledgement as our work is original. We would also welcome your putting our links on
your sites. We have written out a OUR VISION STATEMENT that provides answers to some
questions that we hope will explain clearly what our goals are on our two sites.

You can find out more about our church family and band history by going to
the PHOTO and HISTORY ALBUM. There are links at the bottom of the page
and on the SOUNDWATER MEDIA PAGE.

The music represented on SOUNDWATER began 30 years ago and continues today. Our
more recent selections were recorded at home in our digital recording studio. Earlier albums
recorded from 1975 to 1987 were remastered and made into CDs in our home studio.

The compositions came in various ways. Some songs were written on the piano or guitar
at home. Some songs arrived spontaneously in various types of meetings.

JESUS OF NAZARETH was written on guitar as we sat around a campfire in Prineville, Oregon.
As we were singing the song people began gathering around our campfire. Even the rangers
at the park came and joined us. Finally several deer wandered in close to the fire.

Equally special were the songs received in dream or vision. I AM ETERNAL was such a song.
In a dream, Charles heard the song being sung. The song grew louder and louder until he
woke up, and wrote down what he had heard.

PRINCESS CALIATRA is different than anything else we have ever written.
It began as a project for a college course final and gradually grew into the work
you now hear. There are two distinct works. One is a musical drama, and the other
is an instrumental to be interpreted in dance, ice ballet, etc.

Our special thanks to all that have helped us and continue to pray for us through the years.

With Love
Charles and Mary
